40 Watts from Nowhere takes you back to the 90s and puts you at the controls of the totally rad and totally illegal radio station, KBLT.

This exclusive 70 minute immersive adventure lets you and up to 5 other pals control the airwaves, share the music you want, and live the kickass true story of an urban legend.

Pricing: $400 for up to 6 participants

Runtime: Approx. 70 min

Parking: Street parking only.

Meeting location: Outside at the construction barricade next to Painted Lady Tattoo (4220 Sunset Blvd. 90029)  

Accessibility: This venue can only be accessed via a flight of stairs; the show is experienced via headphones, but offer manual volume controls. There are light changes incorporated, but no strobe lights are used.

Q: How many people can participate in the private booking? 

A: Up to 6. 

Q: What about 2 people? Or 1 person? Or 3 people?

A: Yep! Up to 6. But the cost is the same. 

Q: My buddy flaked and now there are only 4 of us - can I have a discount?  

A: Sorry, nope. Your ticket is for up to 6 people.

Q: Can I bring 7 people if I pay you more?

A: Nope. Our experience and venue are designed for a small group of 6 or less.  

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: You can cancel up to 72 hours before your timeslot for a full refund. Cancellations with less the 72 hours notice will receive a 50% refund. No-shows get bupkis.

Q: What if I need to switch my night? 

A: You can do that up to 72 hours before your showtime through this very website. Scroll to the top of the page for the navigation bar and click "login" to begin the short n' painless process. 

Q: Can I have a refund if I can't come? 

A: We don't do refunds, but please see above for picking a new night! Experiences like this also make GREAT gifts, so you can always gift your booking and to someone cool.  

Q: Can I bring my kiddo? 

A: We recommend this experience for ages 12+ due to light swearing and positive depictions of a victimless crime. But you know your kiddo- we trust you!

ABOUT 40 WATTS FROM NOWHERE

Part memoir and part playable theatre, this experiential documentary puts you into 90s counterculture icon Sue Carpenter’s in-home DJ booth as you run the station, share your voice, play music, and desperately attempt to avoid the legal and financial ruin at the hands of the FCC.

Through your wireless DJ headset, Sue puts you to work keeping the station alive. Her inner thoughts guide you to uncover truths – on air and off. As you live Sue’s story, you learn more about her life, her passion for the music scene and her attempts to find balance as KBLT takes over almost every facet of her life.
